Choirs will enjoy the upbeat, positive vibe, the interplay in the chorus between melody and counter-melody, and the optional a cappella chorus with hand-claps at the end. |
SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW
SAB & piano, 3½ minutes approx. Iconic pop song of the early 2000s, this is British band Keane's signature tune. It reached number 3 in the UK charts, and number 1 in the cover version by Lily Allen in 2013. (Allen's version was used in the John Lewis Christmas TV ad of that same year.) Each voice part in this accompanied SAB arrangement takes the melody in turn, so everyone has a chance to shine. Choirs will enjoy the accessible part singing and unison passages. |
OH HOLY NIGHT
SAB & piano, 5 minutes approx. An arrangement of this Christmas Classic for accompanied SAB choir and optional trumpet/cornet solo (or any B flat solo instrument). There's room for solo voice(s) as well. Written in the mid-19th century by Adolphe Adam - a French composer mainly known now for his theatre music and this carol - O Holy Night has been performed by a multitude of pop musicians, including Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Josh Groban. Choirs will enjoy singing this arrangement, which is accessible without losing any of its passion or its charm. An audience-pleaser, for sure. The solo instrument part is also printed separately on the final page. |
STOP! IN THE NAME OF LOVE
SSAB/SAB & piano, 3½ minutes approx. An upbeat arrangement of the classic Motown number 1 song, and one of Billboard's 100 greatest girl group songs of all time. The harmonies - relatively sparse in the original recording, have been fleshed out for accompanied SSAB choir, with the melody being shared between the upper voice parts. Choirs will enjoy the story-telling in the verses, the driving energy of the chorus, brief unaccompanied passages (optional), and the oportunity to include some sassy Supreme-esque choreography! |
I WILL FOLLOW HIM
SAB/SATB & piano, 2 minutes approx. The classic 60s pop number, originally made famous by Little Peggy March, and more recently in the movie Sister Act. The original topped the U.S. charts. Altos take the lead for most of the song, but the other parts have their moments, and the whole choir will love the call-and-response phrasing. |
