WELCOME - MEET ANDY
Andy is a composer and arranger, specialising in choral music. If you wish to commission a piece for your choir, group or school, get in touch.
Andy has taught music in schools throughout the age range, and works with community choirs and children's choirs.
An experienced writer on matters of music education, Andy's published work includes
I SAW THREE SHIPS - a new setting of the traditional carol for SATB, published by OUP.
THE OXFORD BOOK OF FLEXIBLE CHORAL SONGS - Andy's setting of Longfellow's Stars of the summer night features in OUP's collection of choral songs. For unison, upper voice, 3- or 4-part singing.
SWEET & LOW - originally premiered by Bob Chilcott and the ABCD NW Children's Honour Choir. Available for SA in OUP's As you sing collection and separately, and for SATB and 3-part.
WORKING WITH CAMBIATA VOICES - Andy led the repertoire session at ABCD's workshop in Sep 2019 for those leading groups of boys with changing voices.
AS YOU SING - Andy has contributed to this collection of nine new concert pieces for upper voice choirs. It is part of the Songbird series, published by OUP.
SING UP - Andy has been working with Sing Up on a variety of projects, including arrangements of The Tenors' Under One Sky, ELO's Mr Blue Sky, Make Your Own Kind of Music by The Mamas & The Papas and Sing by Pentatonix.
CAMBIATA MUSIC - Andy is co-editor of OUP's Emerging Voices series for boys' changing voices, with colleague Prof Martin Ashley. Andy has also arranged some of the pieces in the series.
BONEYARD RAP - Andy's setting of Wes Magee's children's poem was premiered by the ABCD NW Honour Choir, conducted by Bob Chilcott, with poet Wes in the audience! Read about Boneyard Rap here.
